Start of College

Adrian Peterson went to college at Oklahoma from 2004-2006. As he was playing football at Oklahoma he had 4057 yards and 41 touchdowns. While he was there he broke many NCAA freshman rushing records. Rushing for 1925 yards and with 339 carries in his freshman year. He finished second for the Heisman Trophy. Peterson was also the first freshman to be recognized in the Associated Press All-American. For the 2005 year he did not play that much because of a high ankle sprain during the first game of the season against Kansas State University. Even though he was out of four game he still got second in Big 12 rushing yardage with 1208 yards, 220 carries, and 14 touchdowns. He was also named a team member of the All-Big 12 Conference Team.

2006 Season

In the first game of the season against Iowa State University, Peterson broke this collar bone while he was diving into the end zone on a 53 yard touchdown run. Adrian's dad was just released from prison so he got to see his son play. At a press conference Peterson said that doctors said he would not be able to return for 4-6 weeks. When he got injured he only needed 150 more yards to be the University of Oklahoma's all-time leading rusher, Billy Sims is the current holder of that title. Adrian Peterson got to come back for the last game against Boise State at the 2007 Fiesta Bowl and he rushed for 77 yards and one touchdown.
